Over the phone they quoted me a price (didn't say whether or not it included gst) Was told it will cost an extra 10 dollars to for the 2 men to get it up the stairs. 1 Guy meets me on site in an unmarked van with no signage, uniform or business card. Then tells me it will cost 40 dollars more than quoted. I said why he said for "chemicals and gst" I then said no he quoted me $69 and he said ok well it will cost 76 without chemicals including gst. I argued and he then dropped the gst and made it 70. He then proceeded to (easily) get the cleaner up my small flight of stairs which I'd paid 10 dollars extra for.
I'm ok with paying money for going up stairs etc if it makes the job harder, but it seems these guys are just taking the piss out of people on site. If i wasn't on a time frame I would have told him to piss off.
